Minors Under 2 Years Old

Can I bring my stroller at no additional cost?

Yes, you can bring your baby in a stroller to the entrance of the plane and we'll return it to you at your destination. Learn more about our Special Services for Minors Under 2 Years Old.

What is the fare for infants?

Children between 7 days and 2 years old do not need to pay for a ticket. However, you will need to purchase the Baby Combo to be able to take all the items you'll need for your baby.

What items can I take on board for my baby?

By adding the Baby Combo, in addition to your baggage allowance, you can bring the following items:

· A diaper bag that weighs no more than 22 lb (10 kg) and measures a maximum of 9.8 x 15.7 x 15.7 in (25 x 40 x 40 cm).

· A checked item to transport your baby (e.g., a car seat).

Unaccompanied Minors Under 18 Years Old

What is the fare for minors?

Minors between 2 and 11 years old must pay the full fare price for their ticket. 

What are the requirements for minors under 18 traveling alone?

Minors between 5 and 11 years old who are traveling alone are considered unaccompanied minors and may only travel using Volaris is With You. From 12 to 17 years old, they have the option of whether to use the service when they travel unaccompanied. In both cases, the minor must come to the Volaris counters accompanied by someone over the age of 18.

Minors between 2 and 4 years old may travel as unaccompanied minors provided they do so with a family member between 12 and 17 years old. In this case, both will be considered unaccompanied minors and they must use the Volaris is With You service.

Can an unaccompanied minor travel with a pet?

For safety reasons, Volaris does not allow unaccompanied minors to travel with pets on board.

Unaccompanied Adults Over 60 Years Old

Can I request a wheelchair for a senior?

Yes, you can request a wheelchair for a senior adult from our Customer Service staff. Remember that you can also purchase our Volaris is With You service for adults over 60 who require assistance during their trip, which is provided from the moment they check-in until they arrive at their destination.

 

Do you have discounts for seniors? 

The price is the same for a child, adult, and senior. However, we do offer a service called Volaris is With You, which assists people over 60, from the moment of their check-in and until their arrival at their destination airport.

Pregnant Women

Are there travel restrictions for pregnant women?

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) recommends traveling only until the 36th week of gestation and until the 32nd week in case of multiple pregnancies. See the recommendations under Special Services for Pregnant Women.

Special Assistance

Can people with a disability choose their seats?

Yes, they can choose their seats, except emergency exit or front row. Remember notifying us in advance if you require any special assistance or if you are traveling with a service animal so that we can give you the best available seat. See Special Services for more information.

Is it possible to transport passengers on a stretcher?

Our airline policy does not allow the transport of passengers who require a stretcher or incubator. For more information, please see our Medical Needs  section.

Medical Assistance

Can I travel if I use a pacemaker, catheter, or dialysis bag?

If you have any specific medical requirements, you may travel with everything you need to care for them. If your medical situation allows for it, you may travel with a letter from your physician stating your condition and treatment. For more information, please see our Medical Needs section.

 

Can I travel with medication and/or a medical certificate on board?

You may travel with prescription medications on board. If you are ill, it won't be necessary to present a medical certificate.
