How early should I arrive at the airport to check my baggage?

We recommend arriving two hours prior to departure time for domestic flights and three hours before departure for international flights. We suggest avoiding lines and saving time by doing web check-in or mobile check-in.

How many pieces of baggage can I bring with me?

The baggage limit to travel on Volaris routes is 5 pieces of baggage per person. Get more information in the Checked Baggage and Overweight Baggage sections.

What kind of perishable food can I transport and how must I pack it?

You can transport items such as fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and seafood, as long as it complies with the health requirements of your destination. They must be covered in plastic wrap and packed in resistant containers. For more information, please visit Checked Baggage.

What can I take as carry-on?

Included in all our routes at no additional cost:

2 pieces of carry-on baggage that can weigh up to 22 lb (10 kg) in total and measure a maximum of 22.4 x 15.7 x 12.9 in (57 x 40 x 33 cm).

What benefits do I get when adding extra weight to my carry-on? 

The advantages of purchasing an extra weight allowance for your carry-on baggage at the time of booking or in My Trips are:

- Priority boarding.

- Priority use of the overhead lockers for storing your carry-on baggage. (Subject to availability). 

- An additional 22 lb (10 kg) to take on board, divided among two pieces of carry-on baggage (44 lb in total)

What amounts of liquids and/or gels are permitted in the carry-on baggage?

Liquids, gels, and aerosol sprays must be in containers no larger than 3 oz (100 ml/90 g) and placed in a closed, airtight transparent plastic bag.

Can I take my hoverboard with me on a Volaris flight?

Due to official regulations, it is not permitted to carry items such as hoverboards or balance boards that use lithium and/or lithium-ion batteries on board because of the potential risk of overheating.

Can I travel with a firearm to an international destination?

Due to official regulations, the transportation of firearms to international destinations is not permitted.

What is the extra charge for overweight baggage? 

This fee varies depending on the route. If you need to take more baggage than the one included in your ticket, we suggest you to add it before your flight’s departure on My Trips. For an approximate cost of this service, visit Additional Services Fees.

My baggage didn’t arrive on the same flight. How can I reclaim its delivery?

Before leaving the arrivals area, inform our airport staff of any lost or damaged baggage in order to file a Baggage Irregularity report and to receive an explanation of the procedure to be followed. To track the delivery of your baggage, please call 01 55 1102 8000.

How much time do I have to claim my Baggage Guarantee?

You should notify our airport staff of the delay regarding your baggage before leaving the arrivals area. Once your Electronic Credit has been issued, you may use it to purchase and travel within 30 (thirty) days.

Is the Baggage Guarantee effective per person or per reservation?

This guarantee applies to one incident per customer, i.e., if a customer has 2 delayed bags, only one Baggage Guarantee will be issued.
